Striking Transitional Primary Bath

Scope: Anna and Justin outgrew their small shower and oddly shaped tub. They wanted a much larger shower and a bigger tub because their small daughter loves baths. We expanded the primary bathroom by enlarging the shower and tub areas into the bedroom, creating a more open and luxurious bathing space. The entry was redesigned with an arched opening that matches the tall arched vanity mirrors, giving the room a transitional yet timeless look. The shower was extended by three feet, finished in a solid surface marble material with a seamless black Corian shower floor, and included a recessed niche for a clean first impression. A thick, frameless glass panel system, treated with a water-spot-resistant finish, defines the shower and tub without a door. Dual showerheads — a prominent overhead fixture and a versatile handheld — were added, along with a built-in footrest and discreet access panels for convenience.

The vanity was enlarged and fitted with lower pullout shelves and spacious center drawers, topped with the same solid surface marble finish for continuity. A black-stained finish with gold hardware pairs beautifully with the deep olive-green accent wall, while two-tone matte black and satin gold accessories add subtle sophistication. Lighting was enhanced with dimmable recessed cans and a pendant over the vanity for both function and ambiance, complemented by a new heating, light, and exhaust fan system with humidity control. A traditional Toto toilet anchors the water closet, which also received the olive-green accent paint. To complete the transformation, waterproof taupe laminate floors were installed throughout the bedroom, bath, and closet, tying the entire suite together with a warm, durable foundation. New flooring runs throughout their primary suite, offering more space and a cozy area for the family to spend quality time together.

The family of three now loves their new space. They are very happy with the result and proud to show it off to friends and family.
