No More Funky Kitchen Island

Discovery Bay, California

Scope: This homeowner was on a mission to lighten up their dark kitchen. With gloomy cabinets, a wonky-shaped island, a towering bar-top island, dark granite countertops, and a busy backsplash, this kitchen was a diamond in the rough. The homeowner decided to go for a more modern and airier look to lighten up their kitchen. The odd-shaped island was transformed into a sleek design that not only improved the functionality of the space but also added a touch of elegance. The raised bar-top island was replaced with a more contemporary countertop, creating a seamless flow throughout the kitchen. With a fresh coat of paint and a modern, more elegant backsplash, the kitchen now feels like a welcoming and inviting space for cooking and entertaining.

Features: This remodel received much-needed upgrades such as under cabinet lighting, new pendant lights, a fireclay farmhouse sink, white herringbone backsplash, a convection oven, and pet-friendly luxury vinyl plank flooring. Refinished cabinets and radius island cabinetry with a matching radius granite countertop with bullnose edge. The island was modified to increase storage and incorporated pop-up outlets. Oil-rubbed bronze sink faucet and matching cabinet pulls.
