Elevated Everyday Living: A Complete Interior Reinvention
Moraga, California
This Moraga residence underwent a comprehensive interior transformation, reimagining the kitchen, mudroom, hall bath, and primary bath into a cohesive, elevated living environment. Carey Bros. Design & Build Remodeling approached the project holistically—aligning layout improvements, material selections, and mechanical upgrades to create a home that feels both refined and highly functional.
Working within the existing 2,357-square-foot footprint (no addition), the focus was on maximizing livability, improving flow, and upgrading every major finish system throughout the home.
THIS WHOLE HOME REMODEL INCLUDED:
- Full interior demolition across kitchen, baths, and adjacent areas
- Structural framing modifications for new layouts and openings
- Complete plumbing, electrical, and mechanical upgrades
- New insulation, drywall, and finish surfaces
- Window and door replacements
- Flooring replacement and repair of water-damaged subfloor areas
- Interior and exterior finish restoration (including stucco patching)

HOMEOWNER VISION:
The homeowners wanted more than isolated upgrades—they were looking for a unified design language across the home. Their goals included:
- A brighter, more open kitchen connected to daily living spaces
- A functional mudroom built from reclaimed cabinetry
- A refreshed hall bath for guests and family use
- A spa-quality primary bathroom retreat
- Updated systems, lighting, and finishes throughout
DESIGN APPROACH:
The design strategy centered on continuity and balance:
- Clean-lined cabinetry and simple architectural detailing
- A mix of warm and light finishes to create contrast without heaviness
- Strategic lighting upgrades for both function and ambiance
- Thoughtful reuse of select materials (including cabinetry repurposed into the mudroom)
THE RESULT:
The result is a home that feels intentionally designed—not pieced together room by room. This project demonstrates how a coordinated, whole-home approach can dramatically elevate both function and design continuity. Each space feels connected—through materials, detailing, and craftsmanship—while still serving its own purpose.
The finished home is brighter, more efficient, and thoughtfully tailored to the homeowners’ daily life—a true Carey Bros. transformation.

Client Testimonial: “We recently had Beth Soto design, and Carey Brothers Remodeling implement our large Kitchen and multi-bathroom renovation. We could not be more pleased with the results. Beth was a consummate professional and was able to envision our goals with an eye for what works functionally and enhanced the beauty of our home, while keeping us on budget. The funny thing is, we used to read home magazines all the time and dog-ear pages so as to imagine what it would be like to have a perfect home. We don’t need to do that anymore, because Beth and Carey Brothers created that for us. Carey Brothers and their staff brought their years of wisdom and experience to every aspect of the work and paid attention to every detail, and would not stop until we were absolutely enthralled with the work, and we are!!” -Brendan & Jen D.
